New Nanoparticle Therapy Targets Glioblastoma at the Genetic Level

Researchers at the University of Connecticut and Yale University have developed a promising glioblastoma treatment using nanoparticle and peptide nucleic acid technology. This innovative approach delivers bioadhesive nanoparticles to the tumor site, where they slowly release synthesized peptide nucleic acids. These molecules target and block overexpressed microRNAs, known as oncomiRs, which drive tumor growth. Early results show increased survival rates, raising hope for personalized glioblastoma therapies alongside conventional treatments.
