New Breakthrough: Rapid Glioblastoma Diagnosis in Under an Hour

Researchers at the University of Notre Dame have developed an automated device that can diagnose glioblastoma in less than an hour using a simple blood test. The device features a biochip that detects active EGFR biomarkers found in extracellular vesicles, a key indicator of glioblastoma. This innovative technology is highly sensitive, cost-effective (under $2 per test), and requires no blood pretreatment, making early detection more accessible. While designed for glioblastoma, researchers believe it could be adapted for other diseases, offering hope for faster and more effective diagnoses in the future.
